# Topic Maps

Topic mapping is a type of keyword research that shifts away from singular keyword focused SEO in favor of a categorical authority approach. The idea is that Google wants to trust the results it shares on the SERP and that trust is earned in three ways:\
\
1\. In-Depth Content\
2\. Frequent Content\
3\. Semantically Organized (Thematic) Content\
\
ContentSprout was built as a response to the new way of doing SEO. Topic maps can be sold for hundreds of dollars and they are worth every penny. Whether you are a business owner looking to take SEO into your own hands or an agency looking to add a new service with 10x margins, you're going to love topic maps.
